Hunting for Fifth Wheels in Louisville
posted by PaulSherryRVs @ 5:13pm, Friday 18 November 2011.
Every year in late November, there is a buzz about the RV world. Manufacture representatives are in high gear perfecting product presentation, organizing transportation, and making extra sales calls to their dealers. Dealers also get a little more pep in their step as the
month of November comes to an end. This is due to the excitement created by the National RV Trade Show.
This year is the 49th Annual National RV Trade Show held in the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY on November 29th through December 1st. While this show is not open to the public, just about everyone involved in the manufacturing or sales of RVs and RV parts will be there. Like most dealers, we here at Paul Sherry RVs are excited for whats in store for us. Part of the excitement comes from getting pampered by our sales reps from all the different manufactures that we work with... free meals and drinks with old friends is always a good time. But the real excitement comes from seeing, for the first time, what's new for the 2012 camping season.
This year we are on the market for a line of fifth wheel travel trailers to carry on the lot. The past few years we have taken a step back from the new fifth wheel market, and just did really well with late-model used fifth wheels. However, we feel it is time to jump back in, and Louisville is the perfect place start the search.
From many years of experience, Paul Sherry RVs knows that one of the most important factors in running a successful RV dealership is choosing the right lines to carry. That is why we plan on spending all the time necessary to make this decision. There are many factors to be considered including things such as the floor plans available in that line, the quality of construction, size and weight, available options, and even the honesty and integrity of the sales representatives involved in that line. We will ask ourselves questions like, "How will this fit in with our inventory mix? What gaps are we trying to fill? Will our customers value this feature or floor plan?"
We really feel that we have done a great job in selecting which lines to carry in the past. Our Georgetown Class A RVs have been the number one selling Class A Gas RV for the past few years running. Our Class B Pleasure-Way RVs has been recognized with quality awards, and has grown to become the second largest Class B manufacturer. The Forest River Cherokee (Grey Wolf, Wolf Pack, and Wolf Pup are all part of this line) is just a rock solid, affordable line that offers a travel trailer to suit just about any need from park models to toy haulers to light weight travel trailers. The Gulf Stream Conquest and Ameri-Lite are also high quality, affordable lines that offer a great variety of floor plans.
Last year is another example of great selection. We needed a light weight fiberglass trailer to stock on the lot. After doing our due diligence, we decided on the Sunset Trail travel trailers by Crossroads, which offered some of the most innovative features and a great look. This proved to be a great choice as it was one of our top sellers this year. Which is why we are especially curious and excited about the Sunset Trail fifth wheel line that will be debuting in Louisville this year! The image to the left is the preview that was provided by Sunset Trail. Notice the front slide! That's unique... Can't wait to see what else they got going on in there!
Come back to our blog to read a full review of the Sunset Trail fifth wheel and the other fifth wheels that we look into. Find out what we think about them and whether we decide to pick up one of the lines or not. Thanks for reading and don't be a stranger!
